Introducing the worlds first native 30,000:1 Contrast Ratio D-ILA Front Projector, the DLA-HD100. The DLA-HD100 brings Full HD to your home with the industrys highest native contrast ratio. The "native" means that it does not rely on an iris mechanism to maximize contrast depending on the average brightness of one scene. This technical sleight of hand employed on other projectors, effectivly changes overall luminosity, so that blacks are slightly bleached in bright scenes, while light colors appear duller in dark scenes.
There is neither an iris mechanism nor a compromise in the DLA-HD100 home projector. D-ILA is a mature technology, perfected by JVC, which can reproduce the brightest, most vivid colors simultaneously with the subtlest shadows, down to the deepest, truest blacks. Only D-ILA can reproduce in full the rich image information contained in a high definition source, be it broadcast or optical disk

Remarkable Picture Quality: Superlative technologies and user-friendly features make the DLA-HD100 theater projector the premium choice for today’s large-screen entertainment needs. Deep, true black level with the industrys highest native contrast ratio of 30,000:1. The new DLA-HD100 features enhanced 0.7-inch full HD D-ILA devices and an improved optical engine, which allow it to achieve an incredible native contrast ratio of 30,000:1 — the industry’s highest!
Customized Gamma Control Onscreen: The DLA-HD100 makes possible manual adjustment of gamma control via an on-screen display, ensuring accurate brightness levels and color ratios to suit viewer preferences. What’s more, the primary red, green and blue colors can be individually adjusted via the remote controller.
Advanced Technologies: There are a number of advanced technologies behind the beautiful picture quality of the DLA-HD100 projector.
D-ILA 0.7-in (16:9) Full HD D-ILA device x 3: Newly improved, the device exhibits a significant reduction in stray light caused by phenomena such as the dispersion and diffraction of reflected light. JVC succeeded in decreasing orientation irregularities by reducing the gaps between pixels, adopting improved liquid crystals and other innovative technologies, enabling the device itself to achieve a contrast ratio of 40,000 to 1.
High-performance 2x motorized zoom lens: The high-performance 2x zoom lens found on DLA-HD100 is made by Fujinon Corporation and features a large-diameter, all-glass lens assembly with 16 elements in 13 groups. This lens significantly reduces chromatic aberration and provides a high-resolution picture by ensuring that individual pixels remain perfectly focused on the screen. Motorized focus also allows you to enjoy razor-sharp image reproduction in every viewing situation even in smaller rooms where recommended viewing distances to the screen cannot be obtained. Best of all, setting up the DLA-HD100 is easy too as ±80% vertical and ±34% horizontal lens shift function allows the projected picture to be moved horizontally or vertically without having to physically reposition the projector.
Optical engine with wire grid polarizers: The enhanced optical engine dramatically improves the precision of light polarization, helping to prevent light leakage into the projection lens and allowing for true black level reproduction. Finally, the Gennum VXP video processor generates high-quality output using a combination of advanced digital technologies.
Film-Like Picture with Inconspicuous Pixels: There is no obvious "screen-door" effect (a faintly visible mesh representing pixel cell boundaries) when using D-ILA devices, so the high-definition picture is like that produced by a film projector.
Professional-Standard Grayscale Performance: JVCs original D-ILA pulse drive produces clear, high-precision gradations without employing error diffusion. While delivering a 30000:1 contrast ratios, high-precision calibration technology enables the faithful reproduction of dark pictures, in which luminance is 10% or less, so that the blacks can still be differentiated, thus resulting in pictures with appreciable texture.
Rich, Percise Color Reproduction: JVCs advanced optical engine reproduces colors with smooth gradations and minimal noise. This is particularly ideal for movies and sports. Since vertically oriented liquid crystals are used for the D-ILA device, it is possible to reproduce objects that are normally black with true blacks. And, irrespective of brightness, consistent response is assured, allowing the reproduction of a wide range of intermediate colors.
Wide Cinematic Movie Enjoyment: On conventional projectors, 2.35:1 wide cinematic films are displayed letterboxed with black bars on the top and bottom of the screen but thanks to the V-stretch mode, images produced by the DLA-HD100 are expanded vertically. And by using a third-party anamorphic lens, the picture can also be stretched to a full 2.35:1 ratio just as can be seen in a movie theatre.
User-Friendly Design and Controls: Once installed, the DLA-HD100 projector continues to be user-friendly every day – starting with a handy self-illuminating remote control. The buttons light up automatically, making it easy to operate even in a dark room. The remote control also includes direct keys to adjust frequently used functions such as contrast and brightness, in addition to video input selection. A convenient and detailed video adjustment menu allows you to easily adjust the picture to suit the source video and your own preferences. Additionally, the projector is equipped with 2 separate HDMI (ver. 1.3) terminals on the back panel that ensure HDTV signals are transferred without any degradation.
Easy Home Theater Setup: Setting up a home theater system may sound daunting, and in the past it may have been. But JVC has incorporated into the design of the DLA-HD100 projector several ingenious features that make setup flexible and easy. Take, for example, the lens shift function. Its generous ±80% vertical range means you can install the projector on a table, the floor or the ceiling, and still position the picture just where you want it. The same intelligent projection system offers a ±34% horizontal shift, so you do not have to have the projector directly in front of the screen either. Installing a projector on the ceiling has usually been problematic because of the top cooling vents, but JVC has put both air intake and exhaust vents on the front of the unit. You can thus place the DLA-HD100 projector right up against a wall, or even tabletop. Another thoughtful touch is the position of the access panel for replacing the lamp. This is on the side of the projector, so it is always easy to get to.
Convenience and Connectability: The DLA-HD100 incorporates two HDMI inputs compatible with version 1.3 specifications, which allow you to take full advantage of the higher bandwidth of 225 MHz, increased color depth from millions of colors to billions of colors (Deep Color) as well as enhanced resolution and frame rates.
