The JVC RM-G820U brings sophisticated features and high performance to tape-based editing systems.
JVC RMG820U Description:
The JVC RM-G820U brings sophisticated features and high performance to tape-based editing systems. In addition to all of the standard features associated with traditional cuts-only edit controllers, the RM-G820U adds audio monitor level control, variable motion control when using a D-9 (Digital S) VTR and Pre-read editing when using a Pre-read capable VTR. The RM-G820U is the ideal controller for the BR-D85, BR-D92 and other Digital-S VTRs.
JVC RMG820U Features:
When editing with Pre-read capable VTRs (like Digital-S, DVCam, HDCam, D-2 and Digital Betacam) the RM-G820U features A/B style editing with only one source machine. (The record machine itself acts as the second source machine.) In Pre-read mode the controller allows the record VTR to play back a signal while simultaneously recording a new signal in its place. This technique allows for the creation of multiple layers and effects using only two VTRs.
The RS-422 (9 pin) interface allows the connection of a wide range of VTR format types.
Variable Motion Control (VMC)
When editing with D-9 (Digital-S) VTRs the RM-G820U supports Variable Motion Control (VMC) editing and seven event motion memory.
Edit List Management
Built-in memory allows the storage of all data for each edit up to 99 events. Edit Decision List (EDL) management functions include the creation of a comprehensive edit list that can be recalled and performed automatically as well as Renumber and Ripple. An optional keypad (SA-K80U) can be added for easier data entry.
Control External Equipment
Four GPI (General Purpose Interface) pulse outputs with variable timing allow programmed triggering of external devices such as a special effects generator, video switcher, character generator or audio mixer.
Easy To Read Display
Two independent eight digit LED counters display all edit data in either the TC (time code) or CTL (control track) mode for the player and recorder as well as error messages and elapsed tape time.
Accurate and Precise Machine Control
Two jog/shuttle control dials move the tape in the same direction and at the same speed as the dial is turned for frame-accurate location of edit points. Jog mode can also be used to trim edit points and to enter edit location data manually.
