The key advantage of having such high resolution is the ability to greatly magnify a picture without suffering image degradation common to standard resolution cameras. This allows the use of a single camera to monitor an area normally requiring up to 10 fixed analog cameras.
Arecont Vision AV3100M Features:
- Picture-In-Picture (PIP)
- Working from a networked PC, a user can enlarge any selected area of the image in order to bring a person or object into close view. This magnified image is superimposed over the full image in PIP fashion. By recording the original image in super high resolution, this camera is capable of maintaining well defined images even under extreme digital magnification.
- PoE (Power over Ethernet)
- When used together with a PoE switch, this camera can be powered solely by its Ethernet cable. By using the same cable to transmit both data and power to the camera, this camera can be installed in areas inaccessible to a power outlet such as inside an outdoor housing or close to a ceiling. PoE also provides fail safe operation by having the ability to keep the camera operating in the event of a localized power failure.
- Built-In Motion Detection & Alarm I/O Ports
- Built into the camera is a motion detection function adjustable for size and sensitivity and programmable for 64 separate zones. Additionally, this camera accepts external sensors to trigger an alarm alert or to activate a device following an alarm event.
